Ketamine use among young people has risen sharply across the North West, with cases reported from as young as 10 years old. Professionals are encountering ketamine as a primary substance in caseloads, and clinical harms such as “ketamine bladder” are leading to repeated hospital admissions and, in severe cases, surgical intervention. The Think Ketamine event was organised to raise awareness among social care providers and multi-agency teams about these emerging trends, share clinical insights, and showcase local authority responses. The rationale was to strengthen prevention, early intervention, and workforce development to safeguard children and young people.
