Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise

The Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise Sector (VCFSE) is a diverse sector that compromises of a variety of community led groups, Charitable organisations, Faith groups, and many more, that operate outside of the public and private sectors. These organisations are united by their social missions and commitment to serving communities. The VCFSE sector plays a vital role in delivering services, addressing social issues, advocating for the needs of individuals and communities, which includes a proactive approach to  safeguarding and cultural humility.

What can Multi Agency Safeguarding Childrens Partnerships start to think about now? 

The Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise Sector (VCFSE) are wanting to be invited to be part of your partnership.

The VCFSE sector plays a key role in reaching and engaging young people where they are at and enhancing their safeguarding . Young People may at times  feel more comfortable and confident to disclose to VCFSE practitioners.

There is great opportunities here to ensure the VCSFE sector are engaged and named as trusted partner in the safeguarding partnership arrangements

A more local example is Manchester Community Central , who have created a Voluntary Sector Safeguarding Toolkit.  The toolkit represents the minimum standards expected and acts as a tool to support organisations to meet these standards.
