A Multi-Agency Approach to Promoting School Attendance
Improving school attendance for children and young people who are open to services is a shared priority across the North West region. This webpage highlights a multi-agency approach that brings together a range of partners to support children’s right to access education consistently and safely.
While this work focuses on those receiving support from services, it also has the power to positively influence attendance for all children and young people. By embedding strong partnership practices and shared accountability, we can create a culture where full school attendance is the norm—not the exception.
School attendance is a key protective factor. It supports learning, social development, emotional wellbeing, and future opportunities. When children are in school, they are safer, more connected, and better equipped to thrive.
Now is the time for all professionals—across education, social care, police, and health—to recognise that school attendance is everyone’s responsibility. Together, we can make a difference!
