Since the autumn 2025, the North West have been co-producing with children and young people, parents and carers, and professionals from across Cheshire and Merseyside (and wider North West partnerships), with a clear aim:
"to improve how family support and safeguarding decisions are explained, experienced and made"
The co production has included:
- A theory of change session with Cheshire and Merseyside Multi agency Safeguarding Partners
- Insight from nearly 1,000 contributors (children, young people, parents/carers, practitioners and leaders).
4 Children and families co production Hackathons:
- Hack 1: Turning insight into shared “how might we?” questions
- Hack 2: Early prototyping (conversation tools, language, culture shift ideas)
- Hack 3: Refining prototypes and co-producing a safeguarding conversation tool
- Hack 4: Co-creating the Language Charter – embedded in relational practice
