The North West Safeguarding Effectiveness Framework is committed to utilising data to enable early identification of new safeguarding risks, emerging trends and supporting joined up multi-agency responses.
To support the region, we have a dedicated lead within the North West Multi Agency Safeguarding Learning Support Hub to improve the meaningful and consistent use of multi-agency data and analysis to support sub-regional and regional understanding of safeguarding effectiveness. Throughout 2025-6 we aimed to;
• Embed a sustained delivery model for data collection, analysis and reporting across the region to enhance long-term multi-agency safeguarding insights.
• With the Performance and Impact Lead, deliver sub-regional and regional analysis and performance reports on safeguarding effectiveness.
• Develop, lead and co-ordinate regional multi-agency data labs and networks.
• Drive the development of multi-agency safeguarding data maturity across the region.
• Collaborate with National data leads to ensure North West MASAs are informed of national innovation and developments in multi-agency data, integrating these into regional strategies.
Working closely with Data 2 Insight, building on the extensive consultation and data deep dives they led throughout 2024 to co-design a North West Multi-Agency Safeguarding dataset:

The links below provide the most recent version of the North West Multi-Agency Safeguarding dataset, including the template for data submission from MASA’s, and a Definitions and Guidance document to support MASA data discussions.
